Raising Canes River Center
This venue is for large concerts and headline acts. Located in downtown Baton Rouge along the banks of the Mississippi River, Raising Canes River Center hosts over 500 events a year. This arena seats 10,400 for concerts and also hosts sporting events, theater events and trade shows. They are home to the Baton Rouge Symphony Orchestra, Baton Rouge Ballet, Broadway in Baton Rouge and Opera Louisiane. The smaller theater seats 1900. The Market at the Oasis
This one might surprise you as this is the fastest growing farmer’s market in Baton Rouge and is open on Saturdays from 9am – 1pm. Admission is free and they feature farm fresh produce, handmade crafts, baked goods, plants and food vendors. There is also live music every Saturday along with Visit Baton Rouge hosting Friday Nights at the Oasis once a quarter. Friday Nights at the Oasis is a great opportunity for you to listen to live music, grab dinner from a local food truck and meet local artists.

Boudreaux & Thibodeaux’s
This colorful bar with a roomy interior and open-air balcony hosts live music and regular events as well as dancing and karaoke. There is a kitschy and festive atmosphere at this venue as it’s a dive bar and local hangout. There is a cover charge, and it can get quite busy after 8 pm on the nights bands are in. Check out their creative cocktails like Gator Tea. Follow them on Facebook and Instagram for event announcements and to see who is playing. Open Thursday – Saturday starting at 5pm.

Phil Brady’s Bar and Grill
Phil Brady’s is not just a blues bar, they feature great music by great musicians. Phil’s is a downtown joint with modern amenities including pool tables. They host a Blues Jam every Thursday night and live entertainment every Friday and Saturday. While they may not have music, check them out on Monday for $1 burger night. Park in the back and enjoy this local dive bar with quirky characters and great musicians.

LaDivina
This Italian restaurant near LSU has a calm atmosphere, great food and live music in the evenings. They also serve artisan gelato & sorbet. LaDivina has a dog friendly porch (and they serve dog gelato too!). They host live local songwriters on select nights. While they don’t have music in the mornings, you might want to check them out for breakfast too! Open 7 days a week.

Texas Club
National touring acts love performing in this live music venue and nightclub. The likes of Garth Brooks and Foreigner have graced the stage before they were big. Since opening in 1981, the Texas Club has hosted 425 concerts which contained 325,000 guests. This is a great place for fans of country and rock music. It is a smaller venue so all the views of the performers are great. Be sure to check out their online calendar to see what’s coming up.
