Lake Charles Louisiana, conveniently located between New Orleans and Houston, is a busy place with more than 75 festivals and special events each year. Festivals and events range from Mardi Gras to County Fairs to Bourbon and BBQ Events. Here’s a list of the top Lake Charles Festivals.
Mardi Gras
This infamous, annual festival starts on the Twelfth Night (beginning of January) and concludes on Mardi Gras Day (mid-February). This season is full of parades, cook-offs and of course King Cake. The biggest part of the festivities is the Krewe of Krewes Parade on Fat Tuesday, featuring over 60 krewes. Additionally, many local businesses get in on the action by offering specials, festive menu items and live events at their locations. Check out the local event page for specific happenings and dates each year.
Louisiana Pirate Festival

Enjoy cannon demonstrations, themed souvenirs, costume contests and carnival rides with the entire family. Annual event held in May. Dress like a pirate to get in on more of the action!
Calcasieu-Cameron Fair
This annual fair is a fall tradition held Thursday – Sunday in mid-October. In 2022, this event will celebrate its 100th anniversary.
