Fort Myers Florida holds many treasures – enjoy one-on-one nature encounters, play on world-class beaches, and indulge in a plethora of attractions, restaurants, and resorts.  A field trip to Sanibel Island may provide superb birding opportunities as well as frequent sightings of manatees and alligators. Of course, there are plenty of world-class restaurants and local dives to compliment any palette.  Try these food finds in Fort Myers when you are visiting:

The Gathering Place

House made breakfast & international lunch options offered in a homestyle coffee shop with a terrace. This cozy little place offers dishes with a Cuban and Belizan twist.  The menu is prepared daily and includes soups, sandwiches, salads, and desserts so you can find a reason for returning over and over. The best part is each meal at The Gathering Place is prepared by hand.

Blu Sushi – Downtown

Blu began its journey in 2002. The sushi experience and sushi restaurants were limited in the early 2000s. The creators of blu saw the need to bring this wonderful cuisine to the forefront in South Florida. The vision was to create an environment where people of all ages and cultures could come together and enjoy the art of sushi.

Salty Papa’s Shrimp House

Relaxed restaurant providing Southern-style seafood & creative cocktails, plus a dog-friendly patio. When we say creative cocktails, we are super serious!  Make sure you try a Wicked Dolphin Cocktail. Their reputation is formed by the satisfaction of the guests. There is a suggestion pad at your table, and they really read them. Their top priority is to serve only fresh, local and regional seafood from the U.S!   “Where the Bayou meets the Beach” is their slogan and every item on the menu includes proteins and produce that is cultivated and sourced in Florida and the South. Dishes feature the rich and spicy foods found throughout the bayous and cities of Florida and the old South, and the light and citrus-infused flavors found along the Gulf of Mexico coastlines.
