Lake Charles Louisiana offers many great options to get outside and enjoy the landscape with nature centers, preserves, parks, trails and walkways.  Enjoy nature and hiking in Lake Charles at these parks:

Sam Houston Jones State Park

109 Sutherland Road
This park is a great place for camping and hiking.  If you choose to camp, there is firewood everywhere to pick up for your campfire and the park offers free laundry machines for guests and playgrounds for the kids.  There is a large disc golf space and cabins are available if you don’t want to do the tent option.  There is a pier to walk over the swamps as well as little bridges here and there.  The trails are well marked, where you can experience the swamp ecosystem without getting wet or muddy.
