Officially knowns as the capital of the state of Louisiana, Baton Rouge has a calendar full of festivals every year.  Of course, there is Mardi Gras, which we don’t list here due to its popularity and most people already knowing the festival happens in Louisiana beginning in February.  Here is a list of the top annual festivals in Baton Rouge.

Kite Festival Louisiane – March

Full of family friendly activities including kite flying, kite designing and face painting just to name a few.  Souvenir and food stalls abound.  Fireworks are normally shown at dusk.

This festival has been happening since 1981 and is held in the downtown area in a vase green space.  It’s a full day of live music, food stalls and concession stands which make for a fun family friendly atmosphere.  An impressive lineup of blues legends and newcomers are featured.

Ebb & Flow Festival – April

This festival is held in the heart of the city and showcases local merchants and their crafts.  The Arts council has collaborated with hundreds of visual artists, musicians, dancers, teaching artists, poets, arts organizations, and more to celebrate the very best that Baton Rouge has to offer in the arts and culture! Festival also has live music and food booths.

December 2nd 4-8pm: Baton Rouge’s oldest holiday tradition is transforming the winter sky into a wonderland. The Mayor will light North Boulevard with half a million sparkling lights. Experience the magic beneath the 35-foot Christmas tree in North Boulevard Town Square. Enjoy free ice skating and play in six tons of real snow at the Snow Village.
